My Reflections
- First time running this or a published Mausritter adventure. As always there is a huge difference between reading and adventure and running one.
- We had a slow start, that is common since the everyone is figuring things out. I went with the missing family member hook. I didn't create urgency.
- Exploring the site felt good, but the party was so focused on finding the missing relative they didn't look through anything and took the most direct path.
- I presented the Sugar Cult as neutral and generally shunning outsiders. I mean why would a cult that loves candy be overtly hostile? This created a dilemma for the party since they didn't have a reason to fight them.
- The interplay between hive and cult felt weird. I went with them having a somewhat symbiotic relationship but the Pollen from the sunflower was tainting them all.
- When exploring Shig's log I did a 2-in-6 chance they trip on bones in the dark to reveal some treasure. I'm conflicted about this but I wanted them to realize there was things to explore and do.
- Exiting the adventure was harder than entering. They had almost no supplies and were leaving with numerous statuses. If this were a longer game it would have gotten very serious.
- One member took critical damage but otherwise they wiped out every encounter very quickly.
- Need to streamline how to do encounters in Obsidian for TTRPGs
- Should pre-roll some NPC mice to encounter and role-play
